With a modern design and streamlined user experience, the revamped website is a one-stop-shop for people living in Cumbria and beyond to discover the finest products the region has to offer.

Users can explore local craft businesses to find a special gift for a loved one, discover traditional Cumbrian cuisine to impress at a dinner party, or simply browse the wide range of businesses located around Cumbria and the Lake District.

Some of the businesses already listed on the website include Grasmere Gingerbread whose famous cross between a biscuit and cake is enjoyed by customers across the world, Linton Tweeds who have been producing fabrics of the highest quality for fashion houses around the world for more than 100 years, Ennerdale Brewery who brew cask and bottled ales using traditional methods and recipes that appeal to modern tastes, and Lauren’s Cows who sell top quality art and homeware featuring the iconic cow portraits of Lauren Terry.

Head of Commercial and Business Growth, Eve Halliday said:

“Made in Cumbria is all about bringing businesses together to collectively showcase their products to the world. Despite its size, Cumbria has a global reputation for the unique and high-quality products designed and made here. The new website aims to promote these products to potential customers before directing them to the businesses’ own websites to complete the purchase. This will allow businesses of all sizes to tap into this huge potential market.

From the consumer’s perspective, the new website makes it easy for people living in Cumbria and further afield to discover sought-after Cumbrian products while supporting our local businesses community.

We’re really happy with the new website which was designed and built by Kendal-based agency, We are Digital. With new features including enhanced business listings, a user-friendly interface and engaging content pieces, we’re confident that the new website can be a catalyst for increased visibility, growth and collaboration between local businesses.

Listing with Made in Cumbria is available to Cumbria Chamber members who design or manufacture products in Cumbria. The service has previously been popular with food & drink, crafts and gifts businesses. However, we are now looking to expand the site to include businesses in a wide range of sectors.

To celebrate the relaunch of Made in Cumbria, we’re offering six month’s FREE listing to Chamber members. After this, listing will be charged at £100 + VAT per annum + Chamber membership. Revenue generated from listing fees will be reinvested into promoting the businesses listed on the website. To list your business on the website, please get in touch via eve@cumbriachamber.co.uk.”
