Dodd & Co has been selected as one of Cumbria Chamber of Commerce’s 25 Business Heroes, celebrating the Chamber’s 25th anniversary.
The campaign shines a spotlight on businesses and individuals from across the Chamber’s membership who are making a difference throughout Cumbria. It is not a definitive list, but a celebration of just some of the many members helping businesses, communities and the wider economy thrive.
This year marks a major milestone for Dodd & Co, as the Chartered Accountants and Business Advisers celebrate 45 years in business.
Founded in 1981 with just three members of staff, the firm has grown into an established Cumbrian business with offices in Carlisle and Penrith, supporting businesses and individuals across the UK.
From accountancy, tax and payroll to business advisory and financial advice, Dodd & Co works closely with its clients to provide practical expertise tailored to their ambitions.
After 45 years, the firm says its greatest achievement is not simply reaching the milestone, but earning the trust of generations of clients and building a team committed to delivering excellent service.
“We have a real variety of clients across different sectors, and we pride ourselves on our knowledge, personality and expertise,” the business said.
Building long-term relationships sits at the heart of Dodd & Co’s approach. Its team works alongside clients to provide trusted advice, helping them navigate financial decisions and achieve both personal and business goals.
That people-first approach also extends to its own team. Dodd & Co invests heavily in employee wellbeing, offering a wide range of staff benefits including 24/7 wellbeing resources and free monthly massage sessions.
The firm is equally committed to supporting the communities in which it operates. Its activity includes donations to food banks, fundraising for charities, and sponsoring local teams and events.
Environmental responsibility is another growing priority, with Dodd & Co currently exploring the launch of a dedicated working group to help drive further improvements in its environmental impact.
Behind the business are 13 partners, each bringing their own specialisms and responsibilities, supported by a talented team across the firm’s offices.
For Dodd & Co, the most rewarding part of the job is the relationships built along the way.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to give our clients peace of mind about their finances and help them achieve their personal and business goals,” the firm said.
The business has also seen first-hand the role Cumbria Chamber plays in bringing the local business community together, supporting businesses, encouraging collaboration and creating opportunities across the county.
As Dodd & Co looks beyond its 45th anniversary, its focus remains on continuing to support clients, invest in its people and play an active role in the wider Cumbrian community.
After four and a half decades, its story demonstrates that successful professional services businesses are built on more than expertise – they are built on trust, relationships and a commitment to the communities they serve.
