Made in Cumbria: One Year On

Just over a year has passed since the relaunch of Made in Cumbria, during which time the brand has grown significantly!

Just over a year has passed since the relaunch of Made in Cumbria, during which time the brand has grown significantly, finding new ways of showcasing the exceptional talent, entrepreneurship and creativity found across Cumbria.

The website is now home to around 60 fantastic local businesses! From delicious treats at the Blind Chocolatier, bespoke interiors at Cubby Joinery and stunning Lake District Jewellery, there’s something for everyone!

What is Made in Cumbria?

Made in Cumbria is a project run by Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, aimed at promoting businesses that design and create products within the region. It provides a hub for customers to discover locally-made goods while learning about the talented makers behind them. Check out the website here: www.madeincumbria.co.uk

Highlights from 2024

  • The Made in Cumbria blog has racked up thousands of hits this year informing users about all things Cumbria and Cumbrian manufacturing! Check out our latest posts on Cumbria-inspired Jewellery and building a Cumbrian cheeseboard here.
  • In December, we sent out the 10th issue of the monthly Made in Cumbria newsletter to our growing list of subscribers across Cumbria and beyond
  • Seasonal campaigns e.g. for Christmas and Father’s Day significantly boosted the visibility of members’ products
  • New LinkedIn account adding to our combined social media following of over 14,000

What’s next?

2025 will be another busy year for Made in Cumbria sharing the incredible stories behind Cumbria’s vibrant manufacturing sector. In the coming days we’ll be launching our Valentine’s Day campaign, with curated recommendations encouraging people to shop local for Valentine’s Day.
