Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and bake a variety of products, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies.
• Plan and develop menus for our café.
• Ensure all products meet our quality standards and are consistent in taste and appearance.
• Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
• Follow recipes and adjust as necessary to meet customer preferences.
• Monitor inventory and order supplies as needed.
• Label and batch monitor products, adhering to HACCP standards.
• Collaborate with team members to develop new recipes and menu items.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Experiment with new ingredients and techniques to create unique and innovative baked & savoury delights.
• Work with a small team to explore weekend opening opportunities.
• Start early from 6am on some mornings, depending on demand.
• Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends for special events.
• Generally, work Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet the needs of the business.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
• Proven experience in baking and cooking, preferably in a commercial setting.
• Strong knowledge of baking techniques and ingredients.
• Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
• Excellent attention to detail and creativity.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
• Formal culinary training or certification.
• Experience with speciality diets (e.g., gluten-free, vegan).
• Familiarity with food safety standards and practices.
