Ex-military leaders share expertise at Chamber’s leadership conference

Join our upcoming Leadership event, taking place on 8th April in Kendal!

Cumbria Chamber of Commerce is delighted to announce its upcoming Leadership Conference, taking place at The Villa, Levens, near Kendal on Tuesday 8th April from 10am to 3pm.

With a speaker line up featuring four leadership experts, the conference will break down the fundamentals of effective leadership, providing attendees with practical insights they can apply in their own businesses.

The event is designed to help leaders at all levels understand how to bring people together and get things done. The day will feature keynotes and discussions from world-class speakers, each with a wealth of experience in building and motivating high performing teams.

Speakers are…..

Neil Jurd OBE – Bestselling author of The Leadership Book and founder of Leader-Connect.co.uk, Neil simplifies leadership into easily applicable principles. His session will focus on how leaders need to ‘Pause and Allow’ – taking time to think and being brave enough not to meddle. Neil previously served as an army officer: he was an instructor at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, and he led a Gurkha unit on operations in Iraq. 

Macarena Vergara – An esteemed coach and leadership expert who works with globally influential leaders, Macarena will host an interactive session on Coaching for Leaders: How to allow others to think, decide and act demonstrating how coaching techniques can create high-performing teams.

Craig Mathieson – Polar Explorer and founder of The Polar Academy, Craig’s session Leadership and Team Development on Ice will highlight how trust, responsibility, and high expectations can transform individuals into exceptional leaders. Craig will also touch on some of his own extreme exploration, including polar exploration and kayaking.

Jack Felix – Former UK Special Forces Colonel, Jack Felix will share invaluable lessons in Leadership Reflection from a Special Forces Commander, exploring how purpose, followership, and kindness are integral to successful leadership.
