Wax Lyrical began in 1980, when the Williams family — then hoteliers and restaurateurs — noticed how a well-chosen scent could transform a room and a guest’s mood. That instinct for atmosphere became a small candle-making venture, and in 1990 the growing business moved to its current home in Lindal-in-Furness, Cumbria, on a site officially opened by Princess Diana.

Since then, the brand has grown into the UK’s largest home fragrance company, with products sold across the UK and exported to countries around the world — while never losing sight of where it started.
