Over 200 Business Leaders Gather in Keswick for Conference Cumbria 2025

The Pencil Factory in Keswick played host to Conference Cumbria 2025!

The Pencil Factory in Keswick played host to Conference Cumbria 2025, a full-day event that brought together over 200 business professionals, entrepreneurs, and community leaders from across the region. With its theme, “Make It Happen,” the conference focused on turning ideas into impact and encouraging collaboration across Cumbria’s thriving business community.

The day began with an engaging presentation by Lucy Harrison and Heather Grisedale of Harrison Network, who explored how workplaces can evolve to support wellbeing and productivity. Their session set an upbeat and honest tone for the day, sparking conversations around leadership, culture, and modern ways of working.

Next came a captivating panel discussion with young entrepreneurs, showcasing the next generation of Cumbrian business talent. Georgina Golding, Clyne Albertelli, Luke Jackson, Oliver Hodgson, and Lou Kneath shared their personal journeys, the challenges they’ve faced, and the opportunities they see for growth. Attendees praised the panel’s openness and passion for driving innovation within the county.

Following a vibrant networking lunch, Alec Pearson of Alec Pearson Coaching took to the stage with his presentation, “How Aligned Teams Drive Real Business Results.” His talk offered practical insights into leadership, teamwork, and the measurable benefits of a shared vision within organisations.

The event concluded with a keynote speech from Sara Davies, who fascinated the audience with the story of her entrepreneurial journey — from building her first business to becoming one of the UK’s most recognisable business figures. Her message of resilience, creativity, and persistence left attendees inspired and motivated to “make it happen” in their own ventures.

Head of business support at Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, Lesley Robinson said:

“Conference Cumbria 2025 was the biggest success yet! Now in its third year there was a real buzz in both the presentation and exhibitor rooms. We had a fantastic line up of speakers, an inspiring panel of young entrepreneurs, a business exhibition and good old fashioned networking. The support from sponsors was very much appreciated, including sponsorship of student tickets for Lakes College and Kendal College. Keep the 1st October free for next year’s event – it will be hard to top 2025 but rest assured we will.”
