We’re delighted to announce that Cumbria Chamber of Commerce has been awarded the Gold Awards in the Ministry of Defence’s Employer Recognition Scheme – the highest level of recognition through the Armed Forces Covenant programme.
The Armed Forces Covenant is a national pledge to ensure fair treatment for those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families. By signing the covenant, organisations formally commit to supporting the Armed Forces community and promoting their value within the workplace.
The Gold Award is presented to organisations that lead by example in actively supporting the Armed Forces community in the workplace and championing the value they bring to business and society.
This prestigious award reflects our journey and commitment over a number of years, supporting the Armed Forces community, including veterans, service leavers, reservists, adult cadet volunteers and military families. We see that as important, not just in being the right thing to do in terms of supporting this community, but also a great way for businesses to find and retain valuable staff.
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank Kerryanne Wilde and the rest of the team, as well as those organisations around the county who’ve worked with us on Armed Forces Covenant events and communications for their support.
If you’d like to find out more about getting involved in the Armed Forces Covenant and Employer Recognition Scheme, and/or the benefits of supporting the Armed Forces community, then please do get in touch with Kev Warman, kev@cumbriachamber.co.uk.
