We’re delighted to announce the keynote speaker for this year’s Conference Cumbria, Ugo Monye!
Ugo is a broadcaster, presenter and former professional rugby player who has represented his country 14 times, spent his entire playing career at Harlequins and was selected to tour South Africa with the British & Irish Lions.
After retiring from rugby, Ugo’s transition to television was immediate becoming a key member of BT Sport’s leading rugby team, a captain on BBC One’s A Question of Sport, and presenting Rugby Special. In 2021, Ugo also appeared on the iconic Strictly Come Dancing.
Ugo is a champion of diversity and equality, currently Chairing the RFU’s Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Group and acting as a trustee for both the Women’s Sport Trust and Restart.
Taking place on Thursday 3rd October at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, Conference Cumbria will bring businesses from a variety of sectors together for a day of networking, inspirational talks, a business exhibition and a panel discussion all focused on this year’s theme of ‘Together towards Tomorrow’.
The Chamber is looking to build on the success of last year’s inaugural Conference Cumbria which was a huge hit.
